Slitting blade technology is a critical step in the production of cardboard and paperboard boxes. Consequently, any deviation in the slitting blades can compromise the quality of the finished products, potentially rendering them scrap. Therefore, by analyzing common deviations in corrugated board slitting blades, we can minimize defects and reduce waste in the manufacturing process.

　　Slitting machine blade: deviation at the trailing edge of the cardboard.
　　1. Improper adjustment of the paper‑feeding positioning stopper on the slitter blade;
　　2. The slitting blade is somewhat dull, resulting in a difference in linear velocity compared to the other blades.
　　3. Improper adjustment of the paper-guiding rollers on the slitter blade;
　　4. Improper paper feeding by the slitter blade.
　　Edge burrs on slitting machine blades:
　　1. The slitting machine blade is dull and should be sharpened.
　　2. The slitting knife blade is too shallowly aligned with the knife slot.
　　3. If paper edges or paper fibers have become lodged in the blade groove of the slitting machine, they must be thoroughly cleaned before restarting the machine.
　　4. The blade groove clearance of the slitting machine should not exceed 2.5 mm.
　　The crease line on the slitter blade is prone to cracking:
　　1. The base paper is of poor quality;
　　2. The crease is too deep.
　　The creasing lines on the slitter blade are not straight:
　　1. The creasing on the slitting machine’s blade is too shallow, resulting in uneven creases that compromise the box’s appearance.
　　2. The slitting machine’s blade causes paper feed misalignment.
　　3. The upper and lower pressure rollers of the slitter blade are not properly aligned.
　　The cut edge of the slitter blade is not perpendicular:
　　1. The angle of the slitter blade holder is incorrect.
　　2. The slitting machine blade is not centered in the blade slot;
　　3. The blade edge of the slitter is ground off-center.
